Johannesburg, 24 March 2020, The SA Gin Festival hosted by Schweppes in partnership with the SA Gin Society, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, 28 March in Pretoria and Saturday, 25 April in East London have been postponed indefinitely.

The move follows the recently announced government directive of a 21-day nationwide lockdown, due to the escalation of new cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Africa.

“Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa, Schweppes SA and the SA Gin Society are committed to ensuring the health and safety of our customers and all stakeholders,” says Hlako Rachidi, Channel Development Manager at CCBSA. “We will continue to support national efforts to contain and ultimately eradicate the transmission of COVID-19.”

People who have already purchased tickets may still use them once new event dates are announced. For those who may wish to return their tickets, refunds are available through the ticket service provider, Howler. This can be done on the Howler website by logging in and clicking on the “request refund” tab.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused. The COVID-19 situation is well beyond our control; however, we do believe the right decisions have been made by the South African government and we are in full support of all measures implemented.
